Marty’s Bright Idea for Free Online Yearbook Hosting
Most school order extra yearbooks to sell at the end of the year. This year is not like any before. Please review my idea for sell yearbooks in the age of Distance Learning.
I think of myself as full of good ideas. My wife Mariah thinks I am just full of it. You can be the judge.
Elevator Pitch to Schools:
You have done a fantastic job in showcasing the people, events and activities that make your school special. The yearbook is a powerful way to build school spirit and a sense of community in a time that is so sorely needed. Wouldn’t it be great to allow all your students and staff to enjoy it for free?
When the 1st order of the yearbooks are ready to deliver, your school could send an email to all your families that would include a link to view the yearbook online. Everyone could view the book and celebrate the people and events that made this year special. We would only host it for 5-7 days and then we would pull it down. If they would like to order a printed copy, they would be able to do that after seeing the book. This would give us a total to print number for a second run and enhance student engagement for now and enthusiasm for the future. The second order of books would be mailed home to the families.
Just to influence your opinion of my idea, may I say most all the schools that I have suggest it to love the idea. One school did not want to allow students who did not buy a yearbook to enjoy it. I am excited to get your feedback. It could turn out that Mariah is right.

Your Yearbooks is Safe Online
Only your families will have the link to view the yearbook. It is hidden from search engines. The yearbooks can not be shared to other online platforms. The yearbooks can not be downloaded. The yearbooks can not be printed. They will only be hosted for a few days and then deleted.
Your Yearbook will Engage Students and Excite them for the Upcoming School Year.
Zoom in and out, search for classmates and teachers, and the image quality stays fresh and protected. A video message from your school can be embedded to offer an additional medium of communication. Links to purchase a printed copy of the yearbook are embedded. Other links to educational sites may also be connected. Kids love their devices, so why not have their yearbook on it even if for only a short time.
